Food Intolerance

"What is food to one man can be fierce poison to another".

Food intolerance is associated with a wide range of unpleasant symptoms and chronic conditions. Approximately 45% of population is suffering from some form of food intolerance. Symptoms often occur some time after the food has been eaten. It can be very difficult to identify the food which cause those symptoms.

Symptoms can appear up to 3 days after eating the reactive food. The symptoms can last for weeks. Testing for food intolerance can help identifying those foods.

Q: Food allergy VS Food intolerance

A: A classic food allergy is usually characterized by an immediate and often severe reaction ie. rashes, skin irritation, swelling. Food intolerance tends to be characterized by a delayed onset of symptoms. Symptoms may occur several days after eating the offending food, making it difficult to identify the cause.

Q: Is it possible that I am affected by food that do not show up on the test?

A: Yes, some foods that cause classic allergic reaction may not be detected by IgG food test. Also food intolerance maybe due to lack of a particular enzyme, such as in lactose intolerance.

Q: Are these tests suitable for children?

A: These tests are recommended for people age over 2 years old.

Q: Do I need to have a re-test?

A: Most people do not need to have a re-test. Anyway, if you would like another test, it should be a period of 12 months between the tests.
