Steps for the MALE partner (Penetrative partner)
Stop immediately
If condom tears or slips off, stop sexual activity right away to reduce further exposure
Wash gently
Wash the genital area with warm water and mild soap. Avoid strong chemicals or scrubbing.
GET STI testing
Recommended tests may include:
HIV 4th generation blood test
Syphylis blood test
Hepatitis B screening
Hepatitis C screening
Gonorrhea and chlamydia screening
Ask about HIV PEP
A doctor may recommend Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP), which should start within 72 hours.
Monitor for symptoms such as
Burning urination
Penile discharge
Rash or sores
Fever or swollen lymphnodes
Steps for the FEMALE partner (Receiving Partner)
Stop immediately
if the condom breaks to reduce the risk of infection and pregnancy.
Wash the area carefully
Clean the external genital area gently with warm water.
Avoid douching or using harsh products.
Emergency contraception
If pregnancy is possible, emergency contraception may help prevent pregnancy if taken quickly
Get STI Testing

Gonorrhea and Chlamydia screening
